Senator Berger has publicly stated that Medical Liability reform will create jobs. This is nothing more than a political agenda for the insurance industry. The leadership in the NC legislature believes that placing an artificial cap on human rights will balance the State budget, create jobs and lower the unemployment rate. Senator Berger and his like minded colleagues are using their political power and position to do harm to the working people of this State. Senator Berger and his like minded colleagues are essentially giving the insurance industry another financial bailout. The legislation they propose will pass the financial burden to the taxpayer while increasing the profits of the insurance industry. This legislation is unreasonable and simply unfair. I hope that the electorate will pay attention to this legislation and take note of every legislator who votes in support of the legislation, Republican and Democrat. Any legislator who supports this type of legislation is voting in favor of the insurance industry and against the working men and women of this State.
